SG Laneway Festival had just passed by as well as Toro Y Moi concert here in Manila which only took place last night at Hard Rock Cafe Makati. I heard they were worth watching! How I wish somebody could bring such music festival here. To please! *sighs*

Meanwhile, here’s my pick for other events to die for this second half of February:

(from left to right)

  • Feb 17- Talahib People’s Music 2nd Album Launch: Mga Awit ng Pag-ibig at Digmaan. Happening this Friday at The bar @1951, (1951 Adriatico Malate). Worldmusic Jam starts at 10pm! Watch them live to dig what a real people’s music is. No door charge. RSVP here or check out their Facebook fanpage for other gig scheds.
  • Feb 18- HIMIGsikan UP FAIR 2012 Saturday special. Solid line up indeed! February is well known for UP (University of the Phils.) Fair- a week long celebration of music and struggle against Education budget cut and other campus repressions.

This year’s theme, “Education in desFAIR,” is both witty and socially relevant traits that are very UP. It brings to light the budget cuts education has incurred in the past months, not only in the Philippines but all over the world. It is a call for greater state subsidy and support for people?s right to education. - Lifestyle.inquirer.net

RSVP here.

  • Feb 29-  The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Live in Manila! Right after Laneway, why not enjoy the music tour to the fullest? That night, we’ll stay alive (music plays on my mind on repeat mode). 7pm at Hard Rock Cafe Makati. Check the posters for ticket prices! Check out Kindassault.com for more details.

Finally, something new in this blog! I just realized lately that I’ve been a gig source of my friends whenever they want to break free from stress so I figured out I could give a regular dose of it (as long as I can). I wonder what’s a good title for this portion?
